Minnippi Parklands

Fly the 'Icaroplane' at Minnippi Parklands

With a scenic walk around a lake, a duck feeding platform, BBQs and two fabulous playparks, Minnippi Parklands has all the ingredients for a great family day out.

The walking circuit is smooth and flat and is the perfect length for a toddler to manage on a bike or scooter.

Don't forget to bring bread to feed the Australian Wood Ducks, red and black Dusky Moorhens and Purple Swamphens. You might also see some eels and turtles.

There is a standard playpark near the carpark with swings and climbing fort.

Further along there is also an additional make believe play area. This one is truly magical and fuels endless imaginative play. It is developed around the theme 'The Dream of Flight' and is a tribute to early aviators. Children will love 'flying' the stone 'Icaroplane' - part bird, part plane, part man - with dual pilot seats. There is also a rocket ship tower to climb. Nestled amongst the roots of an old tree there are colourful eggs and a stone table with instructions on how to summon tree sprites. Children could even put on their own performance in the mini amphitheatre.

BBQs (bring your own solid fuel) and picnic areas are scattered throughout the Parkland making it a great place to stay all day and enjoy a family lunch or bigger party celebration.

How to get there: There is a carpark at the end of Stanton Road West, Tingalpa
